It's Friday, April 17th. Good morning. We're currently under a fog advisory that is expected to lift with sunshine and a high of 20 this afternoon. The dollar trading 73.11 cents U.S. I'm Stacey Englehart. Ontario's police watchdog investigating a serious collision involving a police vehicle that left four people injured in Orillia. Police say the collision Thursday involved a school bus and a dump truck and happened when an unmarked police vehicle with its emergency lights activated merged onto Highway 11 from Forest View. Police said the driver of the dump truck and three youths from the school bus were taken to hospital for treatment. OPP said it will not provide further details. Canada Post has started talks to stop door-to-door mail delivery. The Crown Corporation said the process is beginning after meetings with union officials. In a news release, Canada Post said it's converting about 4 million addresses to community mailboxes and the work is expected to take about five years. It said it's also reviewing its retail network to close urban and suburban post offices. WestJet passengers were stranded for over 8 hours, just an hour from their destination yesterday because it was foggy. Now, according to reports, the WestJet flight from Cancun was diverted to the Region of Waterloo Airport because of fog at Pearson. Now, here's the problem. The flight landed just after one in the morning, but travelers were trapped on the plane for 8 1/2 hours because there were no customs officials at the airport. It's not staffed overnight. Travelers said they were not even provided food during the wait, but eventually given water hours later. Now the plane eventually landed just after 10 in the morning in Toronto, while critics argued, why didn't they just drive back? And attend a ceasefire agreed on by Lebanon and Israel appears to be holding this morning. Now there is some relief for locals in Lebanon, but any hope for peace is being tempered by the destruction that many encountered upon returning home. Meanwhile, some say new agreements could bolster attempts to extend the ceasefire between Iran, the U.S., and Israel after weeks of fighting. Light 99, three sports, baseball yesterday. Now the NHL playoffs begin tomorrow. Ottawa plays Carolina at 3. Montreal is in Tampa Bay Sunday. They were supposed to play tomorrow, but the arena in Tampa was apparently double booked.
