Ontario skiers are pulling back from U.S. resorts and politics may be part of it. Cross-border travel dropped about 40% last year with fewer school clubs heading to places like Holiday Valley and Lake Placid. U.S. resorts say they've lost millions of dollars without the Canadian visitors.
Ontario's boosting college and university funding by more than $6 billion over four years and ending the seven-year tuition freeze. Schools can raise fees up to 2% per year, but OSAP will shift towards more loans and fewer grants. Students say that's a tough hit, while colleges and universities call the funding a much-needed lifeline.
The town of the Blue Mountains wants your take on the early design ideas for the Morrow Park revamp in Thornbury. Two surveys are out now, one on the overall park layout, the other just for the skate park. They're open until March 5, and paper copies are at Town Hall. There's also a drop-in design open house February 19th at the Beaver Valley Community Center.
Wasaga Beach's big Guinness World Record snowmobile parade won't happen after all. The snowmobile club says low pre-registration means they can't come. cover costs or come close to the 1000 plus sleds needed to break the record. They're thanking sponsors for the support and say they might take another run at it down the road.

Canada's men's hockey team looks to continue its early dominance, while the men's and women's curling teams try to build their winning starts on day seven of the Milan-Cortina Olympics. The men's hockey team faces Switzerland at the second game of Group A action today. Team Canada opened the tournament with a 5-0 win over Czechia. Macklin Celebrini, Mark Stone, Beau Horvat, Nathan MacKinnon, and Nick Suzuki scored. Connor McDavid had three assists. Jordan Binnington made twenty-six saves for the shutout.
