It's Friday, January 23rd. Good morning, snow squalls and bitter cold temperatures. Today, the dollar 72.53 cents U.S. I'm Stacey Englehart. Well, welcome to the weekend. Certainly might be a good one to cozy up with a hot beverage and a shovel. We're under a snow squall warning. Environment Canada adding an additional 10 to 15 centimeters of snow by tonight with strong winds. Now the poor visibility is really going to pose a problem. Roads and walkways are extremely slippery. But not only is it snowy, it's really cold. We could see one of the coldest days as a massive blast of Arctic air spreads across the province and parts of Canada. Meteorologists say today could feel as cold as minus 30 and no big change overnight tonight. The coldest it's been since January 2019. But be lucky or not in Northern Ontario or even all of Manitou, Their wind chills today will feel between minus 45 and minus 50. Gray Bears OPP have updated an investigation into a serious multi-vehicle collision on Gray Road 14 and Southgate yesterday. It happened at about 1 in the afternoon, involved 5 cars and a snowplow. OPP said the driver of the snowplow was initially involved in the collision. When he stepped out of his vehicle, he was struck by another vehicle that caused a secondary collision. The snowplow driver was taken to hospital. He is expected to be okay. Four others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Gray Road 14 remains closed between South Gate Road 3 and Highway 89. Whiteout conditions were identified as contributing factors in the collision. And Microsoft has confirmed a massive outage to its Office, Outlook, and other programs affecting thousands of customers. Emails weren't going through for many of Microsoft's corporate clients in the company's second cloud products outage in just a few days. The company said it's identified A portion of infrastructure that's not processing traffic as expected. Light 99-3 Sports, the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League, Meaford Knights lost to Bradford 5-2. They host Withsega Beach Sunday at 2.30. NHL last night, all Canadian teams on the ice lost, including Montreal, Winnipeg, Ottawa, and Edmonton. The Leafs host Vegas tonight at 7. Former forward Mitch Marner, meanwhile, makes his return to Toronto. The Leafs face Marner for the first time and lost last Thursday in Vegas. PWHL last night, Toronto lost to Vancouver 5-0. In the OHL last night, Barry beat Niagara 5-3. Among the games tonight, Owen Sound is in Kitchener at 7. And in the NBA, the Raptors are in Portland tonight at 10.
