Court said to decide whether a multi-million dollar proposed settlement will go ahead with beef price fixing. Lawyers behind a class action say a group of companies is accused of conspiring to fix the price of beef. They've already agreed to pay about $8 million. Now, the suit is similar to one settled in 2024, linked to price fixing of bread that started in 2001. Now, according to beef stats, the price has risen 65% since 2021. And while the alleged price fixing was discovered, they have not reduced the price price or even attempted to. By the way, the company will not admit liability even if they settle the lawsuit. A Wasaga Beach couple facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Collingwood. On Tuesday at about 3 in the morning, officers conducting general patrol near Beechwood Road pulled over a couple. 45-year-old Michael Churchill of Wasaga Beach has been charged with obstructing a peace officer, operating while prohibited, possession of drugs for trafficking, and use of forged documents. 47-year-old Alicia Mills has been charged with possession of substance for the purpose of trafficking. Air Canada said a flight arriving from LA left the runway at Montreal's airport yesterday afternoon. No injuries were reported, but the incident prompted the closure of the north runway.
