A giant celebration for World Cup fans across the country after Canada blasted Qatar 6-0 in Vancouver. More than 52,000 spectators attended, including Prime Minister Kearney, who sat next to the president of FIFA. Canada's next game is Wednesday. It's also in BC. A 61-year-old woman has died after being struck by a delivery vehicle in Penetanguishene. Officers were called to the collision on a hospital property at Waypoint Center for Mental Health Care on Church Street yesterday morning. The victim was apparently an employee of the hospital and died at the scene. Provincial police have released more information about response and hear on Kinloss earlier this week. When aviation and canine units were called in, South Bruce OPP were called to an altercation at a home south of Point Clark before 3 in the morning early Tuesday. A 39-year-old was arrested, charged with assault, failure to comply with release order. He attended a bail hearing in Walkerton and was subsequently re-released. A fire in Owen Sound Wednesday sent two people to hospital with burns. Firefighters were called to an apartment in the city's east side. They said two people had burn injuries. One was later released from hospital while another had to be transferred to a Toronto burn unit. The fire department said the cause was unattended cooking and they warn if a fire starts in a pot or a pan, carefully slide a lid over the container to smother the flames and turn off the heat source. Light 99-3 sports baseball yesterday. The Jays beat Boston 4-3, winning all three games in that road series. They start up a series in Chicago this afternoon, 220. The Calder Cup final lives to see another game. Toronto lost to Chicago 4-3 in overtime. Toronto has a chance to win the championship again tonight in Toronto. Game time is at 7. Brazil plays Haiti tonight, and it's Turkey and Paraguay. Canada, meanwhile, is down a player after Ismail Kone's leg was broken when he was tackled. tonight, the Tie Cats host BC at 7.30, and in the WNBA, Toronto is in Connecticut at 7.30.
