Cloudy and breezy today. High minus 10. I'm Daniel Coulombe. It's another icy start across the region with a yellow cold warning still in effect. Wind chills dropped to the minus 30 range overnight and even with a high near minus 7 today, it'll still feel brutally cold this morning. Environment Canada says this long stretch of deep freeze is unusual and there's not much relief coming. Frostbite can set in fast, so bundle up. Check on vulnerable neighbors. and keep pets inside. Grey County is seeing a major drop in opioid poisonings, down more than 70% compared to last year. The county credits local, community-driven programs like supportive outreach services, which help people dealing with homelessness, mental health, and addictions. Officials say the progress is encouraging, but the crisis is not over and the system needs to stay ready as drug supplies keep changing. The town of the Blue Mountains is looking for residents to join a new destination advisory committee, a group that will help guide tourism planning and the town's 2025-2030 destination strategy. They're filling several at-large seats from tourism and hospitality to agriculture and agri-tourism. Anyone interested can apply with a resume and cover letter by March 6 with interviews set for March 10. Tiny Township Fire and Emergency Services has a brand new tanker truck on the road. The Made in Ontario unit is now stationed at Wye Vale Station 2, carrying 9,000 liters of water for areas without hydrants. The township says it's a major boost to safety and replaces a tanker that served more than 20 years. The upgrade also helps maintain Tiny's Superior Tanker Shuttle accreditation, which can even mean insurance savings for some homeowners.
