Well, we dealt with a lot of snow and cold this weekend and we're seeing some school buses canceled this morning. If you want to know if you're affected, my Bruce Gray schoolbus.ca. While hundreds of flights flights were canceled or delayed over the weekend as a large portion of southern Ontario was hit with a blizzard and temperatures so cold municipalities were urging residents to just stay home. More than 60% of flights at Pearson were canceled Saturday and Sunday. A polar vortex blanketed much of the country in recent days. Some areas experienced wind chills into the minus 40s. Now keep in mind a snow squall watch is still in effect for areas of soggy shores, Kincardine and southern Bruce County. OPP say a snowmobile operator was seriously injured after a collision with a pickup truck in Tiny Township. Police were called to a crash at an intersection of Concession 12 Saturday shortly after 9.30. The snowmobile driver was taken to hospital with life-altering injuries. Parliament reconvenes today after the holiday break. Prime Minister Carney met last week with his ministers to set out a path for the first session of 2026. He said the struggle of Canadian families to make ends meet in a turbulent economy is expected to be the key theme, as the Bank of Canada set to make an interest rate announcement Wednesday, and it appears they will keep the rate exactly as it is. And the pizza pops recall announced before Christmas has been expanded to include even more products linked to E. coli. Canadian food inspection agencies say now several varieties of pizza pops are affected. Consumers are urged to check their freezers, either throw them out or return them for a refund. Late 99-3 Sports, the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League, Meaford Knights lost to Wasaga yesterday, 6-0. They're back on the ice tomorrow, this time to play in Wasaga Beach at 7. NHL yesterday, the Leafs are struggling for a win, losing four in a row. Yesterday, a 4-1 loss to Colorado. Also yesterday, Calgary lost to Anaheim in overtime. Vancouver lost to Pittsburgh. Ottawa, the only Canadian team to win. The Leafs host Buffalo tomorrow at 7. In the NBA, the Raptors beat Oklahoma City 103-101. They host the Knicks Wednesday, 7.30. In the NFL yesterday, New England beat Denver to win the AFC championship. The NFC Seattle beat the Rams. So Super Bowl 60 is set February 8th, Santa Clara, California. New England, place Seattle.
