Gray Bruce OPP have launched A manhunt after a string of daytime burglaries Tuesday. Officials say they responded to a break-in in progress on Houghton Vale Road at 2 in the afternoon Tuesday and quickly discovered several nearby homes had been targeted. After an extensive search involving OPP's aviation unit, the canine unit, and emergency response team, they recovered a stolen truck from Wyerton. Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect. 35-year-old faces assault charges after an Owen Sound security guard was attacked downtown trying to break up a fight Tuesday. The incident happened just before midnight, was partially captured on a viral social media video that's currently being reviewed by investigators. Bystanders reportedly pulled the attacker off the guard before police arrived. Ford government facing backlash for holding a rare late night session to make changes to the Freedom of Information laws that will exempt the premier, cabinet ministers, and their staff from accountability. Government said it's necessary to modernize legislation and protect cabinet confidentiality, while critics argue taxpayers deserve to know what the government is spending our money on.
