School board officials say mental health support being offered to staff and students of a Huron High School after OPP responded to a report that a person was on fire. A spokesperson for the district school board said a student was injured in the incident and is being treated in hospital. Students have switched to online learning for the time being. OPP West Region released results from its Easter long weekend traffic campaign from Friday through Monday. There were 168 seatbelt related charges. Although that number is significantly lower than last year's campaign when there were 338, police do stress that seatbelt compliance is a critical Rd. safety issue. According to OPP, failure to wear a seatbelt contributed to 41 deaths on OPP patrolled roads last year, including 14 fatalities in West Region. Prime Minister Kearney has poached another. Ontario MP Marilyn Gladu said she has left the Conservative caucus to join the Kearney Liberals. Kearney's government has 171 seats with three by-elections on Monday. The federal Conservatives calling for the Liberals to suspend fuel taxes as the conflict in the Middle East sent gas prices soaring. They think Ottawa is raking in more revenue from higher prices and the extra cash should go directly to Canadians via a break at the pumps. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Carney announced he's looking at various ways to cushion the blow, the blow being the exorbitant gas prices. Sobey's is recalling several products containing cheese because it could contain listeria. Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the items were sold at Sobey's, Co-op, Fulan, IGA, Safeway, and Thrifty Foods. Affected foods include cauliflower cakes, pasta salads, and various prepared items. And a Gray County resident has a million reasons to celebrate. According to the OLG, a winning encore ticket worth $1,000,000 was sold in Gray County in the April 7th draw. OLG is encouraging all players to check their tickets. Light 99-3 sports NHL last night. Leafs couldn't get a goal in Washington's 4-0 victory. Only 2 other games were played. Edmonton beat San Jose. Buffalo beat the Rangers. The Leafs back on the ice tonight with a road game against the Islanders at 645. And OHL playoffs get underway tonight. The conference semifinals. Barry hosts Ottawa in game one at 7. Baseball yesterday. The Jays edged the Dodgers 4-3. They're off tonight.
