An 18-year-old facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of an OPP officer. 29-year-old Constable Taryn Bali died after he was struck by a motor vehicle yesterday during a police investigation in Northern Ontario. The suspect also faces other charges, including dangerous driving and flight from police. OPP have arrested and charged 4 suspects in a firearms and illegal drug trafficking investigation in Grey Highlands. Police said a traffic stop was conducted when police smelled cannabis. Officers located a loaded handgun and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and fentanyl from the vehicle. Online safety legislation tabled by the government yesterday is being praised by medical professionals, saying it's unacceptable that foreign-owned platforms continue to get rich at the expense of the mental health, safety and privacy of children.
