Well, construction's now underway at the new town hall in Wyarton. Towns and the current town hall It's just cramped, needs major upgrades. In 2024, they bought the former Sobey's building, so half will be town hall. The other 12,000 square feet will remain vacant until they could find a use for it. The $9.6 million renovation is being done by Allen Hastings Limited. StatsCan said the province was one of several that saw population declines in Canada as it edged down in the fourth quarter, dipping 0.2%. The agency said preliminary estimates indicate the population in Canada fell by more than 103,000 people from October 2025 to January 2026. Populations in BC and Quebec also fell, while Alberta had the fastest growing rate of any province or territory. it sounds like better training might be needed. According to a new report, charges were thrown out or evidence was excluded from Ontario court proceedings hundreds of times over the past decade because police officers in urban areas were violating the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The report co-author and law professor said people accused of criminal offenses are frequently walking free because of violations of police officers in Peel, York, Durham, Toronto. Research examined court rulings between 2015 and 2025 in which police were found to have violated the Charter of Rights more than 1000 times. A new poll suggests most Canadians want algorithmic pricing banned or regulated. The price adjusts prices in real time based on consumer behavior and demand. So basically, the more people want it, the more expensive it gets. More than half of respondents support a ban, about a third want stricter rules. Manitoba's already moved to restrict the practice.
