West Region headquarters of the OPP is alerting businesses across southwestern Ontario after an investigation by Oxford OPP. According to the Meaford Independent, a phishing fraud reported to police February 20th by an Ingersoll business. Police say somebody posing as a safety and fire inspector demanded advanced payment. According to police, look for the warning signs like unannounced visits with improper ID and immediate payment demand with threats of closure. Police say authentic inspectors will never ask for sensitive private information over the phone or in an initial meeting. OPP have launched a school safety blitz until March 13th. The West Region Detachment will increase patrols along school bus routes and in school zones, making sure drivers are following traffic laws around buses. Four people injured after a collision between a tractor trailer and a school bus in southwestern Ontario. OPP said the two vehicle crash happened at about 8 o'clock yesterday in Huron East. left both drivers and two students from the bus with injuries. Three people were taken to hospital, 1/4 treated at the scene. Police believe fog was a factor. Well, you might have noticed gas prices up again today. The U.S. and Israel gets the blame for their war in Iran. Prices jumped another 3 cents. The price of oil up about $77 a barrel. As the Prime Minister said, Canada cannot rule out military participation in the Middle East conflict. Speaking alongside the Australian Prime Minister, Carney said the question of Canada's involvement was, quote, fundamental hypothetical. Carney said Canada supports preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, but is urging the de-escalation and protection of civilians. Light 99-3 Sports NHL last night.
