While a special weather statement is now over, a brief but intense snowfall affected road conditions and visibility, so just be careful driving this morning. An Ontario neurosurgeon accused of professional incompetence getting a small wrap on the knuckles in a February 9th decision made by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Stefan Joseph Konashevich is being suspended for six months after a review of his medical misconduct, which includes a patient dying after a nerve blocking procedure, despite an explicit order to stop performing the injections that he kept doing anyway. The doctor, with clinics in Hamilton, Toronto, and Newmarket, was previously facing professional incompetence allegations in 2022. So are doctors actually getting away with incompetence? according to the CPSO's own documents, they rarely get punished. Out of every complaint received, 0.06% of doctors are actually convicted. In South, Bruce OPP are holding a youth police academy. The six-week program is designed for high school students in grades 10 through 12 who live in southern Bruce County and want to learn more about policing. Some of the topics being covered include general patrol, major criminal investigations, emergency response, canine services, forensic ID, impaired driving investigations, and collision reconstruction. The program at the South Bruce OPP Kincardine Detachment is every Wednesday evening starting April 22nd. The deadline to apply is Friday. Light 99, 3 sports, baseball yesterday.
