It's Tuesday, March 3rd. Good morning. It's still a bit chilly right now, but it is supposed to warm up above 0 and sunshine this afternoon. The dollar hovering just over 73 cents. I'm Stacey Englehart. It's now been confirmed. Two Canadian tourists have apparently died after a bus crash in the Dominican Republic. According to reports, it happened Sunday night involving a shuttle transporting tourists to a hotel. The Dominican Republic's National Health Service said eight of the injured were male, five female between the ages of 37 and 72. The age and gender of the deceased tourists were not available. Police have laid charges after a disturbance in Mount Forest. Police say they were called Sunday afternoon just after 3.30. A 34-year-old from Mount Forest was arrested and charged with uttering threats, but police said the accused became aggressive while in custody and was also charged with mischief and assaulting a peace officer. Municipality of Meaford has updated its community improvement plan for this year. Changes are aimed at improving clarity and making it easier to access financial incentives. The CIP provides grants, rebates, and tax incentives. You can get updates on the city's website. Ontario's Premier signed an economic partnership agreement with two First Nations located in the Ring of Fire. Construction set to begin this year, giving access to what are believed to be large deposits of critical minerals. And this could be a sign Ontario will do the same. British Columbia has moved to lock in permanent daylight time after years of waiting on the U.S. to do it. Clocks will spring forward one last time this weekend in B.C. We lose an hour or return to what's called daylight saving time. Ontario passed legislation in 2020, but was also waiting on the U.S. to make the change first. Light 99, 3 Sports NHL last night. The Leafs lost to Philly 3-2 and a shootout and have yet to win a game since returning from the Olympics. Elsewhere, Vancouver lost to Dallas. Leafs are in New Jersey tomorrow at 7. Baseball preseason, the Blue Jays lost to Boston 7-6. They'll take on Team Canada at 1 this afternoon as part of preparations for the World Baseball Classic.
