Good morning. It's Wednesday, February 4. Partly cloudy, a chance of flurries today. High minus 9. I'm Daniel Coulombe. A new McMaster study says psychological distress among Ontario teens has nearly tripled over the past decade, and frequent cannabis use may be part of the picture. Researchers looked at 35,000 students and found teens who use cannabis 40 times per year or more were far more likely to report anxiety and depression, especially girls. The team says today's stronger cannabis products could be playing a role and urges delaying use while teens' brains are still developing. Oh, and sound is clearing out excess snow in the river district starting tonight, 8 o'clock. If you park downtown, you'll need to move your vehicle or it could be towed. Overnight parking rules are still in effect. Crews will be working through several core streets with signs posted and equipment moving around so drivers and pedestrians are asked to stay alert while the Cleanup is underway. If you're around Meaford on Saturday, don't be surprised by some loud booms. The 11th Field Artillery Regiment is running live-fire training at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre from about 7.30 to noon. You'll likely hear a series of heavy bangs from large-caliber guns, but the military says it's all routine training and there's no risk to the public. They're thanking locals for their patience and continued support. Meaford is kicking off a new campaign called She Moves Meaford, celebrating local women whose leadership and creativity helps the community thrive. Starting February 13, residents can nominate inspiring women, business owners, community leaders, innovators, or municipal staff right on the town's website. Selected stories will roll out during International Women's Day Week, all part of council's push to support community strength, economic growth, and women-led workplaces. Light 99-3 Sports.
