Statistics Canada says it will cut around 850 staff members, along with 12 per cent of its executive team.
Adding insult to injury, they told us, before telling the affected workers, employees will find out if they’ve been let go, in a about 2 weeks.
Data shows 7274 people are employed with the company.
The Federal government is looking to cut program spending and administration costs by about 60-billion dollars over the next 5 years.
The watchdog that handles grievances about Canadian telecom providers says complaints about phone, internet and T-V services were up 17 per cent during a yearlong study through to last July. 
The Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services says it handled more than 23-thousand-600 customer complaints, marking a new record.
Consumers' most common gripe had to do with billing errors, accounting for 46 per cent of all issues.
More consumers also complained about contract breaches.
Canada's three largest telecoms again led the way for most complaints, with Rogers, Telus and Bell coming in at 1-2-3 respectively.
