Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for a large portion of southern Ontario. Up to 40 millimeters expected in areas including Owen Sound, Blue Mountains, Northern Grey County, Now the big problem will be the ground is still frozen, so it has little ability to absorb the rain. Pooling and ponding is expected on roads. You're being asked to avoid driving through flooded roadways and watch for washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts. Prime Minister Carney says Canada will never participate in the offensive against Iran. He changed his schedule yesterday to a 10 question period when he was asked about the war by the bloc leader. In French, Carney said Canada's stance is clear. Canada supports the necessity to prevent Iran's nuclear program and the export of terrorism. Another government defection could soon give the Prime Minister his majority. Nunavut MP Laurie Idlow crossed the floor to join the Liberals, giving Carney's government just two seats shy of a majority. Three by-elections are scheduled next month. Loblaws has been hacked. The parent company of Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaws said it determined a criminal third party accessed some customer information like names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses. The company said data related to passwords, health information, and credit cards were not compromised. And Wyerton Willie is now digging burrows past the pearly gates. The town of South Bruce Peninsula said the famous prognosticating rodent died peacefully in his sleep. Willie had replaced a few other groundhogs before him, and the town now says it will begin the search for a new prognosticator. Groundhog Day celebrations attract thousands of people to Wyerton each year. Light 99, three sports NHL last night. The Leafs have now made it 8 in a row, losing to the Habs. Last night, 3-1. Elsewhere, Calgary lost to the Rangers. Edmonton edged Colorado. Leafs host Anaheim tomorrow at 7. In the OHL, Owen Sound lost to Brampton 2-1 in overtime. The Raptors lost to Houston, 113-99. They're in New Orleans tonight at 8. Baseball preseason, Blue Jays blanked the Braves 7-0. They play the Yankees tonight at 6.30.
